REMI BERGER IS AN EMERGING RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGNER. FOUNDED IN 2020, HER EPONYMOUS FIRM IS BASED OUT OF GREENWICH, CT AND SHELTER ISLAND, NY, WITH A PORTFOLIO OF PROJECTS SPANNING THROUGHOUT THE EAST COAST.
RATHER THAN FOLLOWING A PARTICULAR STYLE, THE THREAD THAT CONNECTS REMI’S WORK IS THE IDEA OF AUTHENTICITY. WHETHER RESTORING A HISTORIC HOME OR DESIGNING A NEW BUILD, HER WORK IS INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL LANDSCAPE AND ANY PRE-EXISTING OR SURROUNDING ARCHITECTURE. WITH A DEEP APPRECIATION FOR NATURAL MATERIALS AND FINE CRAFTSMANSHIP, SHE INCORPORATES BOTH ANTIQUE AND CUSTOM PIECES TO CREATE SPACES THAT ARE PERSONAL, BESPOKE, AND FUNCTIONAL FOR EACH CLIENT.
HER HOLISTIC, HANDS-ON APPROACH BEGINS BY LEARNING ABOUT EACH CLIENTS’ LIFESTYLE AND HOW THEY ENVISION LIVING IN THEIR HOME. SHE IS GUIDED BY TWO FIRM BELIEFS; THE FIRST BEING THAT NEW IS RARELY BETTER, AND THE SECOND IS THAT INTERIOR DESIGN IS NOT MEANT TO BE STERILE OR PRECIOUS, BUT INSTEAD SHOULD BE TOUCHED, USED AND ADMIRED – CREATING A LIVING EXTENSION OF OUR MEMORIES, TRAVELS, AND INSPIRATIONS.
PRIOR TO ESTABLISHING HER FIRM, REMI PREVIOUSLY WORKED IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY, WHERE SHE OVERSAW COMMUNICATIONS AT VOGUE MAGAZINE, AND CONTINUES TO CONSULT ON SPECIAL PROJECTS, SUCH AS THE MET GALA. SHE HAS A DEGREE IN FINE ARTS FROM BOSTON UNIVERSITY.
